Target
Introduction | The protein encoded by this gene, in combination with autophagy protein 12, functions as an E1-like activating enzyme in a ubiquitin-like conjugating system. The encoded protein is involved in several cellular processes, including autophagic vesicle formation, mitochondrial quality control after oxidative damage, negative regulation of the innate antiviral immune response, lymphocyte development and proliferation, MHC II antigen presentation, adipocyte differentiation, and apoptosis. Several transcript variants encoding different protein isoforms have been found for this gene. |
Product Overview | Mouse Anti-Arabidopsis ATG5 Antibody is a mouse antibody against ATG5. It can be used for ATG5 detection in Western Blot, Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay. |
Alternative Names | Autophagy Related 5; Apoptosis-Specific Protein; APG5-LIKE; APG5L; ASP; ATG5 Autophagy Related 5 Homolog (S. Cerevisiae); APG5 (Autophagy 5, S. Cerevisiae)-Like; APG5 Autophagy 5-Like (S. Cerevisiae) |

Figure 1 GFP-ATG8a, but not GFP-ATG12b, decorates autophagic bodies in the vacuoles of autophagy-competent cells. Confocal fluorescence microscopy of root cells from wild-type (WT) or atg mutant plants expressing GFP-ATG8a. The seedlings were grown for 5 days on N-rich medium and then exposed for 2 days to N-deficient medium. Plants were exposed to 0.5 μm concanamycin A (CA) 16 h prior to observation. Bars=10μm.
