Kynurenine 3-monooxygenase
This gene encodes a mitochondrial outer membrane protein that catalyzes the hydroxylation of the L-tryptophan metabolite L-kynurenine to form L-3-hydroxykynurenine. Studies in yeast identify the gene as a therapeutic target for Huntington's disease. [Provided by RefSeq, October 2011]
