Target

IntroductionCoronavirus is an enveloped virus with a positive-strand RNA genome and a spirally symmetrical nucleocapsid. In virus-infected primary cells and cells transfected with a plasmid expressing N protein, the coronavirus nucleoprotein is located in the cytoplasm and nucleolus, which is a subnuclear structure. Coronavirus N protein is necessary for the synthesis of coronavirus RNA and has RNA chaperone activity that may participate in template conversion. Nucleocapsid protein is the most abundant protein in coronavirus. During the assembly of the virion, the N protein binds to the viral RNA and leads to the formation of a spiral nucleocapsid. Nucleocapsid protein is a highly immunogenic phosphoprotein, which is also involved in viral genome replication and regulation of cell signaling pathways.
Product OverviewThis antibody was produced from a hybridoma resulting from the fusion of a mouse myeloma with B cells obtained from a mouse immunized with purified, recombinant SARS-CoV-2(2019-nCoV) Nucleocapsid protein.
