Specifications

DescriptionJM108 is derived from the JM106 strain, which was originally transformed as the host of the cosmid library. JM108 strain lacks endonuclease (endA), which improves the yield and quality of plasmid DNA; recombinase-deficient (recA) reduces the probability of homologous recombination of inserted fragments and ensures the stability of inserted DNA. The characteristics of the large JM108 strain are the large yield of amplified plasmids, high purity, and stable quality, especially the high proportion of supercoiled plasmids.
Gene TypesF- endA1 recA1 gyrA96 thi-1 relA1 glnV44 Δ (lac-proAB) hsdR17 (rK- mK+)
Size100 µL/vial
QC resultTransformation efficiency of pUC19 plasmid detection:> 0.5×109 cfu/μg DNA
Note1. Melt competent cells slowly in ice. Add target DNA within 8 minutes of inserting into ice. Do not keep in ice for too long, as long-term storage will reduce the transformation efficiency.
2. Transforming high concentrations of plasmids or high-efficiency ligation products can correspondingly reduce the amount of bacteria that will be used for plating.
