Aconitate hydratase B
It participates in the catabolism of short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) through tricarboxylic acid (TCA) (acetyl degradation pathway) and 2-methylcitric acid cycle I (propionate degradation pathway). The reversible isomerization of citric acid to isocitric acid is catalyzed by cis-ester. It also catalyzes the hydration of 2-methyl-cis-aco ester to obtain (2R, 3S)-2-methyl isocitrate.
