Required for pathogen-associated molecular pattern (PAMP)-triggered immunity, basal resistance, non-host resistance and systemic acquired resistance (SAR) (PubMed:23250427). Involved in RNA-directed DNA methylation (RdDM) as a component of the RdDM machinery and required for gene silencing.
