| Introduction | ZCWPW1, a protein containing a CW-type zinc finger and a PWWP domain (Proline-Tryptophan-Tryptophan-Proline), functions as an epigenetic regulator. It is hypothesized to participate in DNA damage repair, meiotic recombination, and gene transcription regulation through the recognition of methylated histones or interaction with chromatin remodeling complexes. Research has indicated that ZCWPW1 may play a critical role in germ cell development, such as the initiation of meiosis, as well as early embryonic differentiation. Additionally, it has been associated with reproductive system disorders. |
