Target

IntroductionIt is observed enhanced LC3B and other autophagy-related molecules by inducing oxidative stress in OC cells using ROS-generating pro-oxidant molecules. Enhanced LC3B fails to induce autophagosome formation, possibly due to reduced ULK1 complexes. ROS-induced enhanced LC3B also increased apoptosis. Furthermore, LC3B inhibits cell adhesion molecules/mesenchymal markers, leading to anoikis. Furthermore, in vitro studies showed that ROS-dependent enhanced LC3B reduced tumor growth. Similar effects were observed with primary cells from patients. Here, we demonstrate the unique role of LC3B in in vitro/in vivo/ex vivo induction of anoikis.
